Having worked in music ministry most of my adult life, this seemed a most natural transition for many reasons. I have always been a very spiritual person, I believe in the institution of marriage and I am a hopeless romantic!
It became very simple.... I felt a calling. I became an ordained minister and wedding officiant in the state of South Carolina and it has been a privilege to marry so many wonderful couples.
About Betsy
As a former Miss Illinois, I spent many years as a professional actress and singer in New York City and Chicago. While living in Chicago, I had the opportunity to work as a faculty member in the theatre department of Elmhurst College teaching musical theatre. I so enjoyed working with these students!
More recently, I have been writing music and lyrics for children's musicals as well as composing spiritual music.
I have one daughter, Shaun, living in NYC with her husband, Zak, and four beautiful sons, Amadeo (A great family name from our Italian grandmother's family!), Ellwood, Zachary Jr. and Fox.
At present, I live with my husband, Bill Peterson (an amazing jazz pianist), here on Hilton Head Island where we make beautiful music together.
As a married couple, I believe it is important to remind one another of your greatness and to say, "I love you" each and every day. And so we do!
